As the top of the baby's skull is not fully closed until around 18 months, their body can lose heat quickly through the temple area, using a hooded towel to cover that area is great as it keeps them warm and protected.

They should be thick enough to absorb the water while keeping your baby warm at the same time.

The thickness for baby towels varies, from 300gsm to 500gsm, depending on what you need. Thinner towels take less time to dry up while thicker towels would feel more plush.
